4th Railway Gate Angol Closed for One Year Due to Underpass Construction

The South Western Railway has officially begun construction of a road underbridge at LC Gate No. 380, commonly referred to as the 4th Railway Gate in Angol. As part of the project, the road has been completely closed to traffic from June 20, 2025, and will remain shut until June 19, 2026. This development aims to replace the existing level crossing and ease traffic congestion in the area.

The closure affects all types of vehicles, including two-wheelers, cars, and heavy vehicles. Large display boards have been placed near the site to inform the public, clearly stating that vehicles are not allowed and the road is temporarily closed due to work under progress beneath the railway line.

To ensure smooth traffic movement, the Belagavi City Traffic Police have introduced a diversion plan. Vehicles traveling from Angol towards Khanapur Road and BEMCO are being rerouted via DVS Circle, Harimandir Road, Angol Naka, and the 3rd Railway Gate Overbridge. Similarly, traffic coming from Khanapur Road or BEMCO towards Angol must use the 3rd Gate route via Angol Naka and Harimandir Road.
